If you’re ready to step up from being a casual player, but you’re not quite ready to join a golf club, iGolf Queensland is perfect for you!
Whether you’re burning to play competitively, or you simply love playing the game, iGolf Queensland has a lot to offer. It not only provides an easy introduction to playing competitively, it gives you the opportunity of meeting lots of like-minded golf lovers through access and invitations to exciting events, and it gives you a chance to sample some of the benefits of membership at a selection of great golf clubs.
Here’s what you get with your 12-month iGolf Queensland membership fee:
The number of participating clubs and courses continues to grow, so we encourage you to visit the iGolf Queensland website regularly.
iGolf Queensland membership costs $150.00 for a 12-month period.
iGolf Queensland membership entitles you to receive an official Golf Australia Handicap which is recognised worldwide. Your handicap will be administered through GOLFLINK, the official Golf Australia handicap system. Please click for details of the Golf Australia handicap system.
If you have previously held a Golf Australia handicap, your last handicap can be applied to your iGolf Queensland membership (provided the handicap was held at least two years prior to registering to iGolf Queensland). When registering with iGolf Queensland the details you provide in this process allow us to transfer your old handicap information onto the new iGolf Queensland Golf Link number.
If you are applying for a GA Handicap for the first time, a player will be required to submit 3 x 18-hole scores (or 6 x9-hole scores, or a combination of the two), verified by a current Golf Australia handicap holder, as per the instructions on the Golf Australia Handicap application form. For the purpose of returning one of the initial 3 rounds, players are allocated a Temporary Daily Handicap of 45 for women and 36 for men. The Temporary Daily Handicap is not intended to enable the player to win prizes in a club competition. The Temporary Daily Handicap enables the player to know how many strokes they receive on each hole. Please note that the handicapping score must be in Stableford points. The GOLF Link record will not display the temporary handicap for a player’s initial rounds, nor will it display the number of Stableford points that the player made off the Temporary Daily Handicap. The GOLF Link record will only display the ‘Played To’ value for a player’s initial rounds.Just enquire at any recognised golf course for assistance in having your score cards authorised, and take your iGolf Queensland membership card with you when you play.
You could achieve this simply by playing with a friend who is currently a handicap holder, or alternatively:
find a convenient competition venue from the list on the iGolf Queensland website; then contact the venue and ask the Competition Organiser to partner you with a “handicap holder” in a suitable competition, so that your score card can be validated.
The listed venues will be happy to assist and help provide you with an easy introduction to playing competitively.
Please remember to take your iGolf Queensland membership card with you when you play.
Once your handicap has been determined, the Golf Link number on the front of your iGolf Queensland card will become active, and you will able to log on to Golf Link and check your handicap at any time.
